What's New: September 14–20
This week we strengthened the foundation of Uniwex Task: closed several important security gaps, clarified permissions and limits, and polished a series of visible issues in the English UI, calendar, and Kanban. The service is now safer and more predictable under load, while everyday workflows — from creating a column to viewing tasks without a scheduled time — feel much smoother.
Improvements
4Completed a security audit
We reviewed the service across key security scenarios: authentication, roles, public links, file uploads, limits, logs, and builds. The audit results became a concrete remediation plan, with several fixes already included in this release.
Documented the public note-link model
We clearly documented that a public note link provides open access: anyone who has the link can read the content. The UI and documentation now explain the impact of a leaked link, revocation, and what happens after the note is deleted.
Made project badges compact in “No time”
In the calendar’s “No time” section, long project names no longer take space away from the task itself. Projects now use an emoji, with a neat color marker for projects without one.
Reviewed and streamlined automated tests
We reviewed the automated test suite after the service’s larger changes and removed redundant checks from the regular cycle. Critical scenarios remain covered, while development feedback is faster.
Fixes
7Removed the default-color flash on reload
The preloader now uses the user’s saved color theme immediately. Reloading the app no longer shows a brief flash of the default green before applying the selected accent.
Blocked image uploads for viewers
Users with the Viewer role can no longer upload images to someone else’s notes or tasks. Permissions are checked before the file is written, so a denied request returns an error without consuming quota or storage.
Fixed the default Kanban column translation
In the English version, a new Kanban column now starts as “New column” instead of showing Russian copy. The translation is applied immediately, with no manual renaming required.
Fixed wrapping for long calendar titles
Long task titles in the calendar now use the available block height and wrap across multiple lines while there is room. Truncation only appears when the block is genuinely too small.
Fixed calendar block titles on hover
When hovering over a tall calendar block, the title and labels are no longer clipped vertically. The expanded state now reveals the content cleanly and keeps it readable.
Fixed Kanban task-add buttons
Task-creation buttons in the English project Kanban now use the correct copy: “Add task” and “Add completed task”. Russian labels no longer remain next to them.
Restored readability for small calendar blocks
Short calendar blocks no longer squeeze their text vertically into an unreadable strip. Small sizes now use a dedicated compact layout with one clean title line.
